Dana Middle School regards education as a serious process, and is committed to providing all students with a school atmosphere that is conducive to learning. The purpose of a dress code is to facilitate education, not to inhibit any person’s taste in attire and appearance. Students should be clean and neatly dressed in a manner that will be decent, not hazardous to the health and safety of the students, and not disruptive or distracting from the educational program of the school. It is the responsibility of each student to dress in a manner appropriate for an academic setting.
The Dana Middle School Student Dress Code was developed in compliance with Federal First Amendment protections, and in accordance with all California guidelines governing student attire.
